Classes

Throughout the year classes for adults with little or no prior Jewish education are presented at the JHC Queens location.  Our dynamic and empathic presenters , JHC founding Director, Rabbi Moshe Turk (Wednesday evenings for beginners and intermediates) and Rabbi Dovid Schwartz (Tuesday evenings for intermediates and advanced) bring scholarship warmth and humor to these presentations.  While presuming no prior knowledge these classes challenge, rather than insult, the students intelligence.  With ongoing studies in the Book of genesis and rotating 3-4 week Jewish philosophy series, these classes are a great opportunity to gain a working knowledge of Jewish history, philosophy law and lore.

Prayer Services

Adults with little or no Hebrew skills or those who find traditional Temple settings incomprehensible or overwhelming love this service.  It is interactive, joyous and meets in an intimate setting where it’s easy to connect with spirituality…and one another!
